In September 2013, the automotive market demonstrated strong growth in both production and sales, with notable month-on-month and year-on-year increases. From January to September, the growth in automotive production and sales remained stable, with the growth rate higher compared to the first eight months of the year.
In September 2013, vehicle production reached 1.9266 million units, up 14.87% month-on-month and 15.96% year-on-year. Vehicle sales were 1.9358 million units, up 17.40% month-on-month and 19.66% year-on-year. Specifically, passenger car production was 1.5764 million units, up 13.60% month-on-month and 16.51% year-on-year, while sales were 1.5935 million units, up 17.76% month-on-month and 21.12% year-on-year. Commercial vehicle production was 350,200 units, up 20.99% month-on-month and 13.52% year-on-year, and sales were 342,300 units, up 15.77% month-on-month and 13.30% year-on-year.
From January to September 2013, total vehicle production and sales were 15.9384 million units and 15.8831 million units, respectively, representing year-on-year increases of 12.78% and 12.70%. The growth rates were 0.42 and 0.89 percentage points higher than the first eight months of the year, respectively.
